Welcome to Hawai'i Island Ranch and Equine ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing our website, purchasing animals, or booking any on-site activities—including our Gentle Hands Experience—you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Ranch Life Experiences & Visitor Safety
Your safety and the well-being of our animals are our top priorities.
- Assumption of Risk: Working with and being around livestock and horses carries inherent risks. By participating in the Gentle Hands Experience (including feeding, petting, grooming, and riding), all visitors assume full responsibility for their personal safety and the safety of any minors in their care.
- Rules & Instructions: All guests must follow the instructions provided by ranch staff at all times. Failure to follow safety protocols or treating animals unkindly may result in immediate termination of the session without a refund.
- Waivers: All participants (or parent/legal guardian for minors) must sign our physical or digital Liability Waiver prior to participating in any ranch activities.
- Attire: Visitors must wear closed-toe shoes and appropriate attire suitable for ranch terrain and activities.
2. Animal Sales & Reservations
We are committed to ethical breeding and raising healthy, well-cared-for animals.
- Inquiries & Deposits: Inquiring about an animal does not guarantee a hold. Reservations are only secured upon receipt of a confirmed deposit or agreement as outlined during direct communication.
- Health & Inspection: Buyers are encouraged to inspect animals (or request a veterinary check at buyer’s expense) prior to final pickup or transfer.
- Finality of Sales: Due to the nature of live animal sales, all sales are final once physical custody of the animal is transferred, unless explicitly agreed upon in writing.
3. Bookings, Cancellations & Weather
- Scheduling: Bookings for the Gentle Hands Experience must be scheduled in advance.

- Weather Policy: Ranch activities are subject to weather conditions. If we must cancel an experience due to heavy rain, storms, or severe weather, we will offer you the choice to reschedule or receive a full refund.

To the fullest extent permitted by Hawaii state law, Hawai'i Island Ranch and Equine, its owners, and employees shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of our website, participation in ranch activities, or purchase of livestock.
